Second-generation lotus（莲花 liánhuā） flowers from ancient blossoms are brightening up the Old Summer Palace – Yuanmingyuan in Chinese. The popular lotuses germinated from seeds that had laid dormant underground for more than 100 years and were first discovered from a pond in the park in 2017, and they bloomed for the first time in 2019.
